Paleo AIP Kale Matcha Smoothie
The Benefits of Adding Matcha
Matcha is basically green tea that has been specially farmed. For the last three weeks before harvesting the plant is kept in the shade. As a result, during this period the plant produces more Theanine and Caffeine. Consequently it is this combination that gives matcha the calm energy it is known for. Ground matcha has been used in Japanese Tea Ceremonies for thousands of years. Kale also in our delicious smoothie recipe is a rich source of vitamins A, B6 and E. It is also high in Manganese. So drink up!The Paleo Kale Matcha Smoothie
Not everyone is looking for a sweet smoothie. No doubt there are some people who will look at this and think, "Kale, Avocado and Kiwi? yuck!" However, just like mom used to say, you don't know if you'll like it until you try it! This smoothie was very good. So good, I've even begin incorporating it into my mundane breakfast routine along with some of my paleo breakfast favs from Paleo on the Go! When I can't have my pre-made paleo meals delivered to my doorstep (or I've forgotten to order), this is the next best, hassle free way to get out of the door in the morning. It only takes a couple of minutes and starts my day with a jolt of energy and the nutrients I need.
The banana and avocado give it a rich creamy texture, almost like ice cream (well, maybe). Nevertheless it is packed with nutrients and vitamins. Gather the ingredients and give it a try for a pick me up on the go.
